New York Home Fashion Market Week, Sept 2017 : The showroom in the showrooms!

New York Home Fashions Market focuses on home textiles directed at volume retailers. The ‘Market Week’
is a 4 day event that is held at the Home Textile Showrooms in New York, United States Of America. This event showcases products like window, bedding, bath, table linens, kitchen textiles, floor and wall coverings, allied products, accessories and services etc.

A large number of companies took part at the event. Applied DNA Sciences, provider of DNA-based supply chain, anti-counterfeiting and anti-theft technology, supported major brands and manufacturers at the event that
took place from September 11 to 14, 2017, with agreements signed for cotton and synthetic recycled fibres for home textiles such as towels, bath rugs, and bedding.

Applied DNA’s cotton platform was displayed by Himatsingka, who promoted the Future of Cotton in their Pimacott and HomeGrown Cotton portfolio. The home textiles market is seeing a dramatic change in best
practices.

Vetran on board at Indo Count
Indo Count Global USA brought on a veteran of the foam bedding industry. Steve Romero joins the U team as Vice President, marketing and merchandising. He will be responsible or introducing new strategic and product initiatives, enhancing product merchandising and expanding market share for Indo Count US in bed sheets and utility bedding categories.

He reports to Gautam Sareen, marketing head of the parent company Indo Count Industries Limited in India.

Romero brings over 16 years of home textiles experience in strategic marketing, merchandising and product development experience with Sinomax-USA. He has launched comfort products from large established brands including Serta, Beautyrest, HoMedics and Sealy as well as developing smallerin-store brands for large retailers.

He served as a director of the Alliance for Flexible Polyurethane Foam for the last five years and served on the Board of Certi-PUR US, focused on improving quality standards with consumer benefits in the foam industry.
