I TMACH India 2017, the largest textile machinery exhibition in the country, was launched in the Gujarat’s capital city Gandhinagar in December, with participants from the textile machinery industry coming from all over the world. The four-day exhibition took place from 7-10 December and hosted over 350 exhibitors from 10 countries. The event occupied 40,000 square metres of the modern exhibition venue.

The show serves as an accredited platform for textile industry representatives, which supports innovation and adoption of technology, and aims to help companies share their knowledge and seize new investment and capacity expansion opportunities

“The grand show at the outskirts of Ahmedabad is also surrounded by major textile hubs in India. Gujarat as a state is the top investor in textiles sector in India for last several years, and ITMACH India would bring an ideal opportunity for investors and machinery marketers to interact for new investments,” the organisers had said at the onset of the event.

Gujarat has recently extended its flagship Textile Policy to draw further investment for the sector and backed it up by a unique Apparel Policy that incentivises garment making and employment in the state. Additionally, incentive policies from Government of India and other states in the country (Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana etc.) for the textiles industry offer a conducive environment for growth in the post GST era.”

Machinery from each segment of the industry, from spinning, weaving, knitting, to dyeing, printing and processing, was showcased during the show days.

Visitors learnt about the latest trends, developments and opportunities, share their knowledge and fine-tune their ideas. “In short, the mega event ensured that a plethora of business ideas are discussed and dynamic business networking is facilitated,” the organisers commented

Among the global participants were Saurer, LMW, Premier, Amsler, Rotorcraft, Jingwei, Pacific, Picanol, ITEMA, Staubli, Haijia, Rifa, A.T.E., Fong’s, Perfect, Rimtex, Palod Himson, SPGPrints, Embee, Premier Evolvics, and several others.
